A project in-process created in response to a request from someone looking to record continuous drones into their project. The trick with smooth drones is a generous crossfade between the beginning and ending of the loop. This project works by fading the input in when recording starts then shifting to overdub mode and fading out the input before ending recording. This project is in need of some refining. I will update as I have time in response to feedback from people using the recorder.

This project in progress and is a response to few requests for a project set up like a BOSS RC-30. This project has the same basic workflow but can be reconfigured to behave differently. I think this captures the basic 2-pedal interactions. Note that when tapping pedal A, the actual trigger is the release. Be very quick with your taps to keep latency low. With a little practice, tight loops can be done. That behavior may be refined to reduce/eliminate lag.

Unlike a real RC-30, you can peel even if you have not yet overdubbed.

Welcome to Edward's Workbench!

I will occasionally be posting Loopy Pro projects that I am working on so that people can test them out and provide feedback about them.

There is nothing to see yet -- but come back soon. There should be projects appearing here during the first week of December 2025

Scenes Example In Progress

This project is a scenes based workflow where each scene has an independent length (they can even be clock free) that can be used for realtime scene-based song looping or as a songwriter's or practice tool. Currently, you can have up to 4 scenes of 3 loops each with an extra group of independent loops that can be used for grooves or what-not

The project has built-in song forms so that once you have recorded your scenes you can trigger playback that will handle a variety or song forms and you can easily add your own to the project.

NOTE: This is a project in progress and was set up for to be usable with 4-pedal foot switches since they are so common. I am working out workflow details and interested in hearing feedback about what features or refinements would be useful without making it too complicated to use in realtime. Also, I'd like to know about workflow bugs. Once the workflow is final, I am likely to also create a version with more loops per scene for those with more than four switches in their footswitch.

Drone Recorder

A project in-process created in response to a request from someone looking to record continuous drones into their project. The trick with smooth drones is a generous crossfade between the beginning and ending of the loop. This project works by fading the input in when recording starts then shifting to overdub mode and fading out the input before ending recording. This project is in need of some refining. I will update as I have time in response to feedback from people using the recorder.
